The two letter systems
Accents are removed before counting, so José counts as Jose and Strauß as Strauss. Spaces and hyphens are ignored. In the Chaldean system we also show the compound number, the total before reducing.
Each number links to the matching Life Path meaning, which describes the same energy.
What your name numbers mean
Your Expression number describes the talents your full name points to, your Soul Urge your inner motivation, and your Personality number the first impression you give. Read them together. When they agree, the theme is strong; when they differ, you may show the world a different side from the one you feel inside. That's completely normal, and often interesting to talk about.
How name numerology is viewed
Modern Western numerology took shape in the early twentieth century and is usually linked, loosely, to Pythagoras. The Chaldean system is popular in India, where some families even adjust the spelling of a name to reach a favored number. We show both systems side by side, but we don't recommend changing your name for luck: your name already carries your story. Many people also compare their birth name with the name they use every day, which can give a different result.
How it can help you
Use the three numbers as a short self-reflection. Read the meaning of each one, note a phrase that fits you and one that doesn't, then ask a close friend which one they recognize in you. Name numerology is also a fun way to choose a pen name, a username or a character name for a story. If your Soul Urge and Personality numbers are far apart, ask yourself where you hold back a part of you that the people around you would enjoy seeing.
An honest note
Letter values are a tradition, not a measurement. Two people with the same numbers can live very different lives, and spelling variants change the result, so hold it lightly.
